Day 1: Flight On board/Delhi on regular flight
Day 2: Arrival in Delhi and transfer to hotel. Rest and free visits. Departure in train (A/C sleeper) for Allahabad
Day 3: Check in at hotel. Discover Allahabad, old Mughal city and a holy city for the hindus. From Kuzrau Bagh we will go to Akbar’s Fort before discovering Prayag “the place of sacrifices”. Night at hotel
Day 4:In between the pilgrims who come for the holy dip, we shall board at Kali Ghat. Moving on sail and on motor, we shall proceed at a leisurely pace. Forts and mausoleums mix with temples and hindu divinities. Night in tents on bank of holy river ganges near Usmanpur.
Day 5: Famous for it’s Kali temple, Bindhachal is a stop before the crowded Mirzapur, famous for it’s carpets. Night in tents on bank of holy river ganges.
Day 6: The ghats show the presence of big cities. Some more villages at the shadow of very old trees, then the quarries of red sandstone announce the arrival of Chunar. The banks are more crowded and are animated by the Puja ceremonies. Later, the cremation fires add to the spell of the place. Night in tents on bank of holy river ganges.
Day 7: We reach Benaras at the time for Arti (offerings of diyas to the Ganga) The ruined palaces welcome us to this sacred city. Check in at hotel and visit of Shiva’s city. Night at hotel.
Day 8: Visit city of Shiva, sarnath .Afternoon free time to roam around on the ghats and the “chowk” of Benaras. Night at hotel.
Day 9: In the morning, road till Bodhgaya, across the rice fields of Bihar. Important Buddhist center with its temple (an architectural marvel) and the Vayrasana at the foot of the tree where Buddha attained illumination, Bodh Gaya is worth spending time. Night at hotel.
Day 10: Route to Gaya. Visit of Vishnupad Temple and excursion to the top of the panoramic hill, Brahmayoni. In the evening, departure in train for Bardhaman. Night in Train(A/C sleeper).
Day 11: Early Morning arrival at Bardhaman, with its Thara palace and Nawak Hat surrounded by Shiva temples of 18th cent. By surface till Kotoya and return on the waters of Hoogly on a ‘motorlaunch’. Navigation across the state of West Bengal, colourful and proud of its art and brick temples. Night in tents on bank of river Hoogly (Ganges).
Day 12 : Arrival at Nabadwip and visit of Krishnanagar and its Ashram, called the Benaras of Bengal by the devotees of Krishna. Continuation along these small villages, unique occasions to understand the Indian society. Night in tents on bank of river Hoogly (Ganges).
Day 13: Bandel, ex Protuguese outpost announces the arrival of Chandanangore, old French trading center. The age-old facades of the Maharaja’s palace at Shrirampur then the fascinating agglomeration of Calcutta is announced by the famous Howrah bridge. Dinner and night at hotel.
Day 14 : Afterbreakfast Visit Museum, Victoria Memorial, Octherlony and of course the temple of Dakshineshwar dedicated to Kali. These shall be among our visits. Dinner in the city and night at hotel.
Day 15 : Flight Calcutta/ Delhi. Return to hotel. Afternoon free. Night at the hotel
Day 16: Flight Delhi/ On board.
NOTE: complete tour in on full board. private tents will be provides as per client request(single/double). All city hotels are also on full board.
