Andaman & Nicobar Islands

During the British colonial period, Portblair was used as a Penal Colony. People who protested against the British rulers were sent here. It was the most severe punishment a person could receive those days. The construction of the prison building started in 1896 because the necessity of a new prison was felt after the revolution started to rise in 19th century.

Andaman group of islands and the Nicobar group of islands, one of the most important Picturesque islands.
This beautiful harbour was discovered in 1788 by a British officer named Archibald Blair. At first, he named it Port Cornwallis. Later, it was named after him.

Andamans are one of those rare places, where one finds the beauty of deep blue sea with extremely clean beaches, along with the scenic beauty of mountains. One has to visit there to believe it. Andaman & Nicobar Islands are a storehouse of peerless beauty. The days are bathed in bright sunshine, fresh gentle breeze all the time. Nature has skilfully built the Andaman isles in the Bay of Bengal decorating it with forests and hills-

* Havelock Island: Two to three hours journey from Port Blair, on a deluxe cruise.
* Jolly buoy: One can view breathtaking view of undersea corals.
The sheer beauty and novel experience of the place made one feel totally out of this world.
You catch a ferry to jolly buoy from a place called Vandoor. This is a famous Port
* Harbour cruise: Viper Island, Ross Island etc, is adjoining islands,
* Carbyn’s Cove beach: Beautiful beach with Beautiful scenery.

 

Day 01 :Delhi / Chennai OR Kolkata flight to Port Blair
Upon arrival meet / greet and transfer to hotel. Checkin and later on visit of Cellular Jail a mute witness to the tortures meted out to the freedom fighters, Chatham Saw Mill, Gandhi Park, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries Museum, Samudrika (Naval Marine Museum). Evening experience the saga of the heroic freedom struggle is brought alive in a moving Son-et-Lumiere, shown daily at 7.15 PM. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02 :Port Blair
After Breakfast Full day excursions to Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park , a Marine National Park is made up of open sea, creeks and fifteen small and large islands covering an area of 281.5 sq. Kms, Wandoor (29 Kms from Port Blair) and Cinque islands. Overnight at Portblair.

Things to see at National Park – One can see mangrove forests along the creeks and magnificent tropical forests, fascinating coral reefs and rare under-water marine life. The Park is the base to visit islands like Jolly Buoy, red Skin and Cinque famous for exotic marine-life, rare colourful under-water corals and mangrove creeks. Glass bottom boats help to take a closer look of the coral colonies, a memorable experience.

 

Day 03 : 04 – 05: Port Blair ~~~~~~ Havelock Island
Morning after breakfast transfer by boat to Havelock Island (54 Kms from Port Blair – 2 /3 hrs.). This Island offers beautiful sandy beaches and lush green forest. Island camping at Radha Nagar beach is a real exposure to the unpolluted nature for an environment lover. Overnight at Havelock Island.

 

Day 06 :Havelock Island ~~~~~~~~ Port Blair
Morning after breakfast free later transfer by boat to Portblair. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 07: Port Blair Flight to Chennai / Kolkata or Delhi.
Morning after breakfast transfer to the airport to connect flight for Delhi or Mumbai. Via Kolkata or Chennai. Upon arrival Transfer “to city or” Next destination.
