Arrive Alleppey Noon Hours. “kettuvallam” Houseboat await for you with its Crew (Captain , Engineer, Cook) a fresh coconut pierced with straw to welcome you.
A sentence with drink, we already d’bordons for a first contact with the Backwaters and colors: fluorescent green coconut palms and banana trees line the banks , blue cloudless sky , omnipresent sun, refreshing breeze . In the early evening, leaving behind the shore lined with large squares and colorful villages of activity, we suddenly discover a haven of peace.

When we woke up , ducks swimming in ” single file ” panicked cries of our boatmen and return to the banks in a burst of wings. Coconut palms are rarer and now we pass large tracts of paddy fields which make the happiness of the inhabitants of Allappuzha . An intense white light envelops the landscape and the heat seems to stop everything.
Sheltered huge hedge mazes , myriads of birds come regularly inhabit around Vembanad is slipping silently among groves of bamboo that we have temporarily dislodge. Visit a Christian church Portuguese style . Teenage girls in uniform seem to welcome us and we never want to leave . . You may get a chance to see : the famous ” Snake Boat ” that are made here . In the morning bustle of the surroundings of “Vembanadu ” is marked by an intense traffic of boats loaded with rice, coconut, coconut coir used for making ropes. Visit a rope entirely by hand using coconut fibers previously dried and intertwined with each other.
Further, a village offers us the way visiting a fish market, spread over a net to land , among a heap of pottery and various fruits. Another long stretches along a noisy road where cross trucks, bicycles, scooters and street vendors. ( The childrens in the villages  will follow you with usual practice !!!!! so you may keep some” price less gifts for them to make them happy )
In this region of Alleppey , the boundary between the Indian Ocean and the Backwaters , a simple strip of land separating the two waters or let them communicate through a narrow pass . We are at the heart of the Venice of the East …

In these places rarely visited by foreigners, children are shy. Tapering to each other, they hide behind the laughter. The boat restarts leaving behind hands fluttering.

Wake up early . Enjoying our breakfast, we walk along the shore where the villagers alive recover from silt . Trikunnipuzha destination , a small town divided into two between the lake and the national ” Highway” – Continuing our slow progress on these natural channels , we enter into a plant profusion that passes under our eyes. Wedged between the canal and the ocean, Thottappally marks a new stage . Eyes sparkling with curiosity , smiles discovering beautiful white teeth , women and children crowded around us, curious about this casual encounter . Visit Church and Bhudha Statue at karumadi village.
We meet many canoes and fishing rights over their proud boats pushing their bamboo poles a steady pace and almost mechanical. Her brow with a white cloth , they greet us with a wave of the hand.
The sun sets gently kissing the horizon of a sudden the landscape. Near Thakazhi, we anchor for the night in the middle of a small lake. Dinner and overnight on board

Awakened at dawn by a swarm of fishermen from their nets to meet challenging, this new day starts with a traditional breakfast of Kerala, “disembark at Kayakulam Jetty & ” drive to Next nearest destination Kovalam for beach stay either next destination.
